The size that fits everything — rice, soup, the morning's first fruit. Whatever the meal asks for, this bowl is ready.
The Daejeop (대접) is one of the most essential vessels in the Korean table tradition — a mid-sized bowl designed to hold rice, broth, or side dishes with equal grace. Tovy's Chohwa Daejeop reinterprets this classic form through the lens of Korean folk painting (초화, Chohwa), where wildflowers and natural motifs were understood as an expression of calm, not decoration. The watercolour-wash glaze — soft blues drifting into creamy whites — is the result of high-temperature ceramic firing using traditional Korean clay and natural glazes. PEUM carries this bowl not as cultural novelty, but as everyday Korean Minimalism for the contemporary table.
Set it as the primary rice bowl at a Korean-inspired dinner, paired with small banchan plates and a set of brass chopsticks. Use it for a breakfast bowl — warm congee with sesame oil, topped with a slow-cooked egg, served in a bowl that earns quiet admiration. Style three bowls from the Chohwa series together on a timber shelf — the subtle glaze variations make them feel curated, not matched.
A versatile, beautifully made bowl that suits any kitchen — and any occasion. Each piece hand-fired in South Korea by Tovy. The glaze variations are the artisan's mark.
