It was designed to protect sacred spaces. Now it holds what matters most to you.
The Chimi (치미) once crowned the ridgelines of temples and royal halls — a ceramic ornament believed to ward off fire and misfortune. The Mireuksaji Chimi, held at the Iksan National Museum and among the most celebrated artefacts in Korean heritage, gave form to this pouch: its curved silhouette lifted at the edges, the way the original Chimi rose from the roofline against open sky. Korean Minimalism here is structural — a shape that means something before it is touched. The embroidered Chimi motif on the front translates ancient craft into a modern everyday object, produced in Korea and finished with a hand-stitched wrist strap.
Use it as a phone pouch tucked into a tote, the embroidery visible and the cultural reference quietly present throughout the day. Gift it in its presentation box to someone who collects objects with stories. Styled with natural linen and ceramics, the white version reads as considered and complete — an everyday object that carries the shape of something ancient.
Inspired by the Mireuksaji Chimi. Made in Korea. For those who believe everyday objects can carry cultural meaning.
