Vines that never end, drawn in shell that never dulls.

This twin-cube Korean jewellery box carries the dangcho scroll wound around a full-bloom medallion on each face, hand-inlaid in mother-of-pearl with touches of crimson and green. The butterfly clasp opens to four velvet drawers.

The dangcho vine is drawn without a single break, and that is the point. Its endless line stands for eternal vitality and prosperity, and for generations that flourish in unbroken succession, which made it the pattern of choice for gifts marking new beginnings.

17cm wide, the most formally patterned of the five designs.

A housewarming or milestone gift with the meaning in the motif, or the box for someone drawn to symmetry.

Handcrafted in South Korea. Each box varies subtly in shell iridescence — this is the character of najeon.
