Some designs carry their history in the texture — you feel it before you see it.
The Medium Pleats Bag from MU:DS (National Museum of Korea) x Joseph & Stacey brings the Geobukseon (거북선, Turtle Ship) to shoulder-carry scale. The hexagonal dorsal scale pattern — drawn from Admiral Yi Sun-sin's legendary warship as depicted in the Sugunjoryeondo — is translated into a permanent pleated knit structure by Joseph & Stacey's biodegradable knit technique. At W350 × H340mm, the medium format holds tablets, daily essentials, and everything between, with a wider strap calibrated for comfortable shoulder carry. Available in Sky Blue and Navy — the same Korean naval heritage in a more generous silhouette.
Carry it as a daily shoulder bag and the pleated structure earns its aesthetic without explanation. Its fold-flat profile earns its packing space even when the bag itself is empty — equally at home on the way to work, the market, or a weekend away. For those who appreciate that the best design objects carry their origins visibly, this is a meaningful gift as well as a practical one.
Dry clean recommended; no heat or ironing. Handcrafted in South Korea. A limited edition collaboration between Joseph & Stacey and MU:DS, National Museum of Korea.
