History doesn't always arrive in a museum. Sometimes it arrives on your shoulder.
This Limited Edition Pleats Bag is a collaboration between Joseph & Stacey and MU:DS (National Museum of Korea), created for the museum's 80th Anniversary of Liberation exhibition — "Our Lee Soon-shin." The design takes the hexagonal dorsal pattern of the Geobukseon (거북선, Turtle Ship) — as depicted in the historic Sugunjoryeondo naval training map — and translates it into a contemporary pleated knit texture. Joseph & Stacey's signature knit technique produces a bag that is soft, flexible, and expandable, folding compactly for carry and opening generously in use. Available in Sky Blue and Navy — two readings of the same maritime intention.
Carry it to a gallery opening or cultural event and the pleated texture reads as considered design before the reference is explained. Its fold-flat capability earns its place in an already full kit, and in the hands of someone who carries their appreciation for Korean history lightly but deliberately, it starts conversations without requiring explanation.
Dry clean recommended; avoid heat and sharp objects to preserve the knit pleats. Handcrafted in South Korea. A limited edition collaboration between Joseph & Stacey and MU:DS, National Museum of Korea.
