Cranes pair for life, a fact this box states without saying a word.

Two cranes stand together beneath sweeping pine on a black lacquer ground, hand-inlaid in mother-of-pearl beside an ornate fish-form clasp secured with a traditional binyeo pin and twin tassels. Arched feet lift the box from the surface it rests on.

A standing pair of cranes is Korea's emblem of faithful partnership and long life together; the pine behind them holds its green through every season, constancy made visible. Even the fish on the clasp keeps a meaning: fish never close their eyes, so they guard what is precious.

The lid opens to a mirror, velvet compartments above and a luminous nacre-lined lower tier. Korean najeon lacquerware in three sizes.

The wedding and anniversary choice. A gift that says what cranes mean.

Handcrafted in South Korea. Each box varies subtly in shell iridescence and lacquer depth — this is the character of najeon.
