The Songhak box is Korean najeon lacquerware in its most generous form: hand-cut mother-of-pearl set across deep red lacquer, finished with a traditional brass-tone clasp and a hand-knotted maedeup tassel in red and blue.

Its name tells you what it means. Song is the pine, green through every season, the emblem of endurance. Hak is the crane, said to live a thousand years, the bird of longevity and high spirit. Together they form Korea's oldest blessing: a long life, well kept.

Lift the lid and a mirror meets you. Beneath it, velvet-lined compartments and a removable tray keep rings, earrings and heirlooms in quiet order.

It anchors a dressing table, marks a milestone anniversary or a wedding morning, and gives a lifetime of jewellery a home worthy of it. Three sizes, one presence.
