On black lacquer, moonlight is something you can hold.

Cranes fly through pine and plum across a midnight ground, every feather cut from mother-of-pearl and set by hand within a full key-fret border, the classic frame of Korean najeon lacquerware. A round medallion clasp closes the domed lid.

The crane is the scholar's bird: a thousand years of life, purity and high spirit. The pine beneath its wings stays green through every winter, the emblem of endurance. Cranes in flight over black lacquer are that wish, set in motion.

Inside wait a mirror, deep burgundy velvet compartments and a removable black tray.

Three sizes, one unhurried presence. The most formal of the Songhak line, for heirloom jewellery and rooms where black is the quiet luxury.
